Oriental Basalt

Appearance: Volcanic (igneous) stone with subtle shades of dark grey.

Properties: Oriental Basalt is a strong, smooth and hardy stone, suitable for most applications. The fissures and small holes in the surface are evidence of the earth’s natural gasses flowing through and escaping from the stone. These are filled with resin or cement. It is recommended to seal this stone to extend its longevity.

Use: Due to its good wear resistance (class 4), this natural stone is suitable for all uses in both domestic housing and in public buildings with moderate to intensive traffic.

Formats: Tiles, slabs and cut-to-size.

Finishes: Honed and flamed.
