Parquet installation: towards a new UNI standard

Final public inquiry phase for the UNI1606448 project, which defines the criteria for evaluating the construction of wooden and parquet floorings for internal use, once the installation is completed and at the time of delivery.

The Wood Commission is interested in the UNI1606448 project “Wood and parquet flooring – Installation – Criteria and methods for evaluating the construction of the flooring, once the installation is completed and at the time of delivery”, which intends to replace the documents EC 1-2011 UNI 11368- 1: 2010, UNI 11368-1: 2010 and UNI 11368-2: 2013.

The draft standard defines the criteria for evaluating the construction of wooden and parquet floors for internal use, documented by a specific delivery report issued by the installer. It applies to floors laid by gluing, floating and by screwing-nailing, on any type of support, used in new and / or existing buildings. It does not apply to indoor flooring for sports use, outdoor flooring and the restoration and / or recovery of pre-existing wood and parquet flooring.

The final public inquiry serves to collect the comments of the operators and to obtain the widest possible consensus before the project becomes a norm, especially from those who were unable to participate in the first phase of legislative drafting.
